Things haven't been going too smooth for the past weeks. First off, i totally forgot that this coming Sunday i'd need to help out with commissioning parade. So i got a friend to book a ticket for me for transformers ( imax 3d even better ) , and now im having difficulties finding someone free and willing to head down. Next up, i decided to try out a friend's supplement, shake the damn bottle then spilt the milk all over myself, my table, and my laptop. My laptop reeks of vanilla now, definitely not in a good way.
That reminds me of my cadet days. Tryin to eat my cup of instant noodles in almost complete darkness in the bunk. Put it on the floor beside my drawer, forgot bout it. Pulled out the drawer to take the fork, and there goes my noodles. Used my bathing towel to clean it, while my buddy tim was laughing like a hysterical dude. This is the second time my bathing towel has sprung into action. Those days, golden man. Really missing those days.
On a separate note, cadets be coming in next Tuesday. This is where everything we've learnt, and still learning, comes into play. My job's like a teacher actually, so this is gonna be a good experience for me. Interested to see how things will play out in due course, hope all's smooth. The only joyous thing is that i got a free dental visit at the dental centre in my camp. Despite those days of not brushing my teeth for extended periods as a cadet, im glad its still okay. |

Have you ever thought about what you wanted to do in the future? I did. I have a vague idea, but im not sure if it will materialize in time to come. I could be a writer, an entrepreneur, an events manager, or a human resource dude. But does it matter now? From the way i see it, our society's pretty obsessed with the fact that you have to know what you want to do in the future. But does it really matter, now? Does having a clear vision of your future really help you to succeed in life? Maybe it does.
Why is it "not good" that you have no definite idea about what to study in the future? Or so i've heard from a million people out there. Why cant we take things as it comes, and let things play out the way it should, and live for the moment, instead of worrying for our future perpetually?
Just a curious thought, after a conversation some time back with my chao ang moh friend who inspired me to think about life, as we see it now.
If you ask me, he is probably the only one that i've known who will live and die by the subject of this entry, "Live for the moment." |

I remembered asking a colleague before why her current job had nothing to do with what she studied. In case you're wondering, she studied political science. And so she went on to elaborate, like my professor would have said, there aint much political freedom in Singapore. Well, im not qualified to provide any form of affirmation for that statement, simply because im not well versed in this field. And so, that brief conversation stuck with me for quite a bit. Something for all of us to think about eh?
Interestingly, i've watched a couple of speeches made by the opposition parties ( thanks to everyone sharing on facebook) , and i must admit that there are outstanding leaders amongst them. Some issues makes for an interesting discussion, such as the state media providing airtime to almost everything that the PAP candidates has to say, as mentioned cheekily by a SDP candidate. What bothers me this time round, is that the PAP stance on the opposition is pretty obnoxious, that they're bringing them down. And not to forget MM Lee's statement to the people belonging to Aljunied GRC. Those words are no different from a threat, and i believe that the people can sense it too.
Im waiting to see if the results of the election, especially for Aljunied GRC, would reflect the sentiments on the ground, or if those sentiments are merely temporary, or like the past, not be reflected come this 7 may.
Just some articles to share,

Work is progressively getting more enjoyable thanks to a few kick-ass friends. And i have my ocs buddy to thank, for letting me have his playlist. Kings of Convenience, Camera Obscura, & Astreal ( hi-5 Sham ) are quite the cool kids for me now.
Just the kind of music i need to sleep my Sunday night away. On a side note, i think i need to sort out my thoughts. Ruffled, disorganized and a tad bit chaotic.
Some pictures to sum up the past weeks.
 Mal's Birthday.

 Comms ball.
9 months of crap made a lot better, with this dude.
And finally, sending Dean back. |
